Les nominations des 48èmes Grammy Awards, les récompenses musicales américaines, ont été annoncées cet après-midi à New York.

Beyoncé Knowles, 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, et Stevie Wonder ont glané six nominations, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Gwen Stefani et U2 cinq chacun.

La catégorie "meilleur album" mettra face à face Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney ("Chaos And Creation In The Backyard"), Gwen Stefani ("Love. Angel. Music. Baby."), Kanye West ("Late Registration") et U2 ("How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb").

Côté rock, Coldplay, Foo Fighters et U2 se taillent la part du lion, chacun concourant notamment pour le prix de l'interprétation rock (avec Franz Ferdinand et The Killers), la meilleure chanson rock (avec Bruce Springsteen), le meilleur album (avec les Rolling Stones et Neil Young).
